The percentage of Americans who think things are going well in the country is at its lowest in nearly two years, a CNN poll released Friday showed.

Forty-one percent say things are going well — down 9 percentage points since April and the lowest number in CNN polling since February 2012. Fifty-nine percent say things are going badly, which is a 9-point increase since April.

Less than a quarter of people say an economic recovery is under way, compared to 39 percent who say the economy is still in a downturn and 36 percent who say there’s not a recovery yet but that conditions have stabilized.

The survey of 843 American adults was conducted Nov. 18-20 for CNN by ORC International and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
