Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Republicans on Capitol Hill could take a cue from conservative governors across the country who are focusing on changing how government works, including education reform.
“That’s our message; that’s our winning message,” he told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

He said each of the country’s 30 Republican governors probably will get re-elected “because they’re focused on those issues and not overreaching” with a minority of power in Washington.
“We win when we focus on a positive agenda; we lose when we’re reacting to what goes on in Washington,” Mr. Bush said.
He said too many people, including host Joe Scarborough’s television show, beat to death the focus on Washington “like a baby seal on the rocks,” even when what happens in the nation’s capital has minimal effect on everyday lives.
