Sen. Edward J. Markey, Massachusetts Democrat, suggested Thursday that the information technology professionals working on the HealthCare.gov website follow a page out of the Red Sox’s book to fix the site and grow beards.
“I’m recommending to the administration to have everyone working on the health care website to grow beards until we get that right,” he said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” which broadcast live from Fenway Park in Boston after the Red Sox, sporting their teamwide playoff beards, won the World Series on Wednesday night.

Mr. Markey managed to get in some political commentary, saying that Republicans shutting down the government over Obamacare was “like the Detroit Tigers saying we should not have a World Series this year because we didn’t make it.”
