Washington, D.C.– Howard Bomstein has been appointed Executive Marketing Director of The Washington Times,, and related media channels.  The appointment is effective July 1st, 2012.  Bomstein will provide marketing and communications leadership for all Washington Times Media. 


As part of this assignment, Howard will create and launch a new strategic marketing and communication group.  This new operation will work with a wide range of businesses, associations and charitable organizations to improve their return on marketing investments.

Bomstein has been a leader in the advertising agency business in Washington for decades.  He founded The Bomstein Agency in 1977 which grew to be the fourth largest advertising agency in Metropolitan Washington. The agency created marketing and advertising programs for a wide range of clients including The Washington Times.

Howard merged The Bomstein Agency with Williams Whittle Associates of Alexandria, VA in the spring of 2009 where he served as Vice Chairman.  His role at Williams Whittle was Account Management and New Business Development.

A native Washingtonian, Bomstein was educated in the public school system in Washington and Silver Spring.  He earned a BS in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland in 1970 and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Penn State University in 1972.

He is a career-long member of the Ad Club of Washington and has served on the board of Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington as well as Fight for Children, Inc.  Howard also served in the United States Army Reserve from 1970 through 1976.

Bomstein and his wife Polly live in Northwest Washington and have three accomplished daughters.
