The release of former Oakland starting free safety Stuart Schweigert on Monday night was somewhat of a surprise to the media, but the Redskins said that he never adjusted to their aggressive style of defense.

Simply put, Schweigert wasn’t physical enough for the Redskins and rookie safeties Chris Horton — and to a lesser extent Kareem Moore — are making good impressions. Schweigert didn’t ask for his release as some had speculated, but he got it anyway.
