Like the proverbial two ships passing in the night, as injured defensive end Phillip Daniels headed into Redskin Park for the last time in a while, he encountered his newly-acquired successor Jason Taylor.

The two veterans exchanged pleasantries and a hug before Taylor wished Daniels good luck with Friday’s surgery to repair a torn left ACL.

Daniels said that Dr. James Andrews will perform the operation not at his usual Birmingham, Ala. home, but in Pensacola, Fla. where the famed surgeon works on Fridays.
