The Washington Times affiliated radio program America’s Morning News (AMN) received a hearty laugh from AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka in mid May, when he was asked if a victory in Wisconsin for Republican Governor Scott Walker against Democrat Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett on Tuesday, during the recall election, meant the labor union leader would consider resigning.

The unions pushed recall for Governor Walker’s seat has been intense since the Republican governor introduced collective bargaining reforms into the state’s budget last year that eventually passed. These reforms happened following delays caused by state Democratic lawmakers who fled Wisconsin to disrupt the vote on the budget last year.
