Rock history echoed through the streets of Hollywood this summer as Strange Souls: The Doors Reimagined transported audiences back to the psychedelic 60s with electrifying performances at the Whisky A Go Go and the Troubadour. These June 2024 shows marked a triumphant return to the very stages where The Doors first made their mark on music history.

Strange Souls: The Doors Reimagined breathes new life into the catalog of one of rock's most influential bands. The tribute act captures the essence of The Doors groundbreaking blend of rock, blues, jazz, and experimental sounds that defined the psychedelic rock genre.

Channeling Morrison's Spirit

At the forefront of Strange Souls is lead singer Jerad, whose uncanny resemblance to Jim Morrison extends beyond physical appearance. A former model and fitness Jerad embodies Morrison's dark, brooding sexuality and commanding stage presence. His journey to fronting Strange Souls began during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he honed his craft by singing along to Doors tracks while in isolation.

Jerad doesn't just imitate Morrison; he channels his spirit; says music critic L. Simmons. "His deep respect for the poetry woven into The Doors music shines through in every performance."

Jerad is backed by a talented group of musicians who bring their own passion to the project:

· Dave Korteling on guitar
· Don Naideck on keyboards
· David Bach on bass
· Joe Zad on drums

A Setlist That Spans the Ages

Strange Souls: The Doors Reimagined delivers a comprehensive journey through The Doors discography. Fans can expect to hear radio favorites like "Light My Fire," "Break on Through," and "L.A. Woman."  The band also delves into deeper cuts, breathing new life into tracks such as "Shaman's Blues," "Peace Frog," and the epic "Celebration of the Lizard King/Not To Touch The Earth."

"We're not just a cover band," explains guitarist Dave Korteling. "Our goal is to recreate the entire Doors experience - the energy, the unpredictability, and the boundary-pushing nature of their performances."

Returning to Hallowed Ground

The band's recent performances at the Whisky A Go Go and the Troubadour hold special significance. These venues were instrumental in The Doors rise to fame, with The Whisky A Go Go serving as their home base in the early days. "Playing these historic venues is surreal," says keyboardist Don Naideck. "You can feel the ghosts of rock and roll past all around you. It's both humbling and electrifying."

The Enduring Legacy of The Doors

Strange Souls: The Doors Reimagined pays tribute to a band whose influence on rock music cannot be overstated. The Doors, active from 1967 to 1971, pushed the boundaries of both music and performance art. Their innovation earned them a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, and albums like their eponymous "The Doors," "L.A. Woman" and "Strange Days" consistently rank among the greatest albums of all time.

"The Doors' music is timeless," says Jerad, 24. "Our mission is to introduce it to new generations while giving long-time fans a chance to relive the magic."

Looking to the Future

Following their successful Los Angeles run, Strange Souls: The Doors Reimagined is set to embark on a nationwide tour. The band promises to bring the same level of authenticity and energy to venues across the country.

"We're just getting started," says bassist David Bach. "The response so far has been incredible, and we can't wait to share this experience with Doors fans everywhere."
