Running backs Gibson, McKissic lead the way

First-period success paying dividends for Capitals

The first period has been the Washington Capitals' best this season. In each of the last three games, the Capitals have scored on their first shot on goal, with the most recent in the team's 6-3 win over Montreal on Wednesday.
