Ohio father-son duo accused of illegally operating slaughterhouse

An Ohio man and his son face multiple federal charges for a bizarre scheme in which they illegally operated a slaughterhouse and sold the uninspected lamb meat at Cleveland-area gas stations in exchange for food stamps, according an indictment lodged Tuesday.

Skadden Arps settles FARA claims arising from Manafort investigation

International law firm Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has agreed to pay $4.6 million and register as a foreign agent for failing to notify the Justice Department of its lobbying work on behalf of the Ukrainian government, the department said Thursday. The allegations against Skadden came to light through the Mueller probe into former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's lobbying work.
