Washington Monument reopens with Melania Trump ribbon cutting

House panel announces witnesses for D.C. statehood hearing

A House committee on Wednesday released a list of witnesses who will testify during a hearing on D.C. statehood to be held on September 19. The hearing will mark the first time since 1993 that a congressional panel has weighed the possibility of granting the District statehood.
