The time has come for good women to stand up and defend the good men of America. The very notion that men are somehow predisposed to violence is as flawed a concept as has ever been fabricated by the human mind. Today there are angry, bitter women who would have America believe that generally every single man — and more specifically, every white man — is a predator waiting for an opportunity to abuse a woman.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Don’t let the apple rot

For many years, there have been persistent attempts to hasten the "inevitable rot" of society: The presumption of guilt until proven innocent, promoting conflict by creating artificial antipathies between demographic groups, teaching children what to think (and especially, what not to think) rather than how to think, leveraging precepts of moral relativism to validate venality and the preference for form over function and emotion over reason. In short, we're seeing the justification of mob rule in the name of social justice.

A famous comedian of a bygone era once stood before an audience and told a joke. Nobody laughed. He repeated the joke. Again nobody laughed. Puzzled, he repeated the joke again, and still nobody laughed. Undeterred by the audience's obtuseness, he continued to repeat the joke until suddenly the audience grasped it and erupted in laughter.

Dick Durbin, Dianne Feinstein, Kamala Harris and other Democrats when these legislators have asked the same question of Judge Brett Kavanaugh: If you're not guilty, why aren't you asking for an FBI investigation to clear your name?

The Democratic charge against Brett Kavanaugh will trigger shudders far beyond the long arm of the U.S. law. The clashing narratives of Brett the choir boy versus Brett the serial molester will only widen the dark gulf of suspicion between men and women. Following the new FBI investigation of lurid sexual misconduct tales, the U.S. Senate will render a verdict on this chapter of he said-she said chronicles. The cultural struggles over sexual ethics will surely continue.

Circuit). If confirmed he will make great contributions at the U.S. Supreme Court.

It used to be that like-minded free thinkers formed groups for support; that was referred to as a political party. Together they reached a consensus of direction. When considering the lack of decorum displayed by most of the Democrats during the Senate's Supreme Court hearing, it is evident they had their marching orders to execute their party's flavor of the day, which is to oppose and sabotage everything that has a Trump label on it.

At a press conference Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said, of the Christine Blasey Ford hearing today, "We have hired a female assistant to go on staff and ask these questions in a respectful and professional way." In my world his statement is followed by the question, "Do you think that your white, all-male panel of Republican senators cannot ask your questions "in a respectful and professional way"?" This is not exactly a profile in courage.

After observing an 'impotent' Congress for many years, I now ask if a citizen can sue Congress. My reasons are many, mostly because of the way our current laws are being ignored/abused/misconstrued by those who created them. Consider, for example, how our existing immigration laws are ignored, how there is no consideration of "innocent until proven guilty" for Judge Brett Kavanaugh, or the absence of discussion of the sexual-assault charges against Democrats Rep. Keith Ellison and Sen. Sherrod Brown. Consider, too, the "resist at all costs" approach employed by the Democratic Party.

EDITORIAL: Even men are innocent until proven guilty

There's more at stake in Washington this week than the philosophical composition of the U.S. Supreme Court. Judge Brett Kavanaugh is fighting for his name and reputation against the inquisition engineered by the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee of the U.S. Senate, and what is struggling to survive is nothing less than hundreds of years of law, precedent and guarantees of justice inherited from Anglo-Saxon legal tradition. If destroying a reputation without evidence wins the day, the cornerstone of the American judicial system — the presumption of "innocent until proved guilty" — will crumble.

Remember when due process was a thing? Remember when "innocent until proven guilty" was a thing? Democrats obviously don't. Recently our do-nothing Sen. Mazie Hirono said, regarding the allegations against Judge Brett Kavanaugh: "Guess who's perpetuating all of these kinds of actions? It's the men in this country. And I just want to say to the men in this country, just shut up, and step up!"
