Stop Facebook’s censorship

The misguided, "politically correct" mentality of encouraging dangerous medical procedures to alter the sex of minors is being aided by Facebook. Posts questioning the the merit of shortening a young boy's or girl's life because of the obsessed determination of a parent to get even with an ex-spouse disgusts me.

Who will help an abandoner?

When American troops first arrived in Afghanistan, no one spent months vetting the loyalties of Afghan interpreters, soldiers and scouts. Instead, we quickly and gladly accepted their help. Now that we're leaving Afghanistan, bureaucratic hurdles are slowing their rescue from probable annihilation. This same story played out in Vietnam. Let us not forget the unfulfilled promise of full veterans' benefits that was made to World-War-II-era Filipino soldiers who fought with us against the Japanese.

Resignation insufficient for Cuomo, others

New York Attorney Gen. Letitia James and U.S. Attorney Gen. Merrick Garland should be ashamed to have declined to indict New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for committing acts of sexual battery ("Cuomo urged to resign after sex harassment report," Page 1, Aug. 4).

Determine rent-reprieve deservedness

Despite a ruling by the Supreme Court, President Biden has instructed his Centers For Disease Control and Prevention to extend their previous moratorium on evictions ("Biden bends to liberals, gives renters another eviction moratorium," Page 1, Aug. 4). Rather than argue the constitutional legality of this move by an executive branch agency of our government, I offer a suggestion: Those facing eviction should have to answer a few simple questions to clarify their financial situation.

Change supply-side policy now

The first function of all socioeconomic systems is to preserve themselves. This is what the politics and media support for our current supply-side importing system is demonstrating today.

Milley, left miss real threats

In recent testimony before Congress, Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that he was studying "white rage" in order to understand it and that the biggest threat to this country is from right-wing extremists ("If critical race theory is correct, is America worth defending?" Web, June 29). It sounds as if Milley has been reading Robin DiAngelo's "White Fragility." The premise of that book is patently absurd. DiAngelo posits that having white skin automatically makes a person an oppressor and a racist, and being born Black automatically makes a person oppressed and a non-racist. This is contradicted by evidence all around us.

Cuomo must pay for crimes

I sat with anger, confusion and questions mounting as the New York attorney general reported on the results of the investigation into Gov. Cuomo -- allegations of sexual abuse of women, many on Cuomo's own staff ("N.Y. Gov. Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women, investigation finds," Web, Aug. 3). I was angry that so many had to be the targets of Cuomo's immoral and illegal behavor. I was confused about why he is not being arrested or having charges filed against him for clear violation of federal and state laws. Reporters at the press conference must have shared my questions, for they continually asked the attorney general how such charges were not in evidence.

Left two-faced on government trust

What is most galling about the Democrats' obstruction of investigations into the 2020 election fraud is the undisguised two-faced nature of it ("Dominion Voting Systems, Maricopa County reject subpoenas in Arizona election audit," Web, July 26).

Father Frank Pavone and Alveda King make a solidly reasoned case for the Supreme Court to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Biden, Harris both unfit for office

I've been a political independent since before my pate became shiny and my teeth lengthened, which means that I've suffered decades of Joe Biden's tergiversations and obfuscations without having to issue apologias for him as my Democratic friends have done ("Biden's truly bizarre behavior draws renewed scrutiny," Web, July 29).

Upper-middle class could fight back

The conservatives in the upper-middle class of our country have the power to push the progressives back on their heels. Unfortunately, this class will only react aggressively to the onslaught by the "woke" when their soft-cushioned lifestyles are jeopardized.
