DENVER — As the Democratic National Convention kicks off today, Team Obama has released another ad slamming Sen. John McCain on the economy.
It (surprise!) ties McCain to President Bush, and features his quotes about not understanding economics “as well as I should.”
Here’s “Don’t know much”:
Also, as Joe Curl told readers a few weeks ago, McCain has money to burn before he has to start abiding by the public financing general election spending limits.
So keeping to that, he’s up with a third ad in as many days, this one focused on the Wisconsin Clinton delegate booted from the party because she doesn’t want to back Obama as the nominee.
Anita Dunn of the Obama campaign dismissed the ads as nothing more than a “video press release” designed to get free air time on national cable shows. On a 6:30 a.m. (!) conference call, Dunn said the McCain ads are a “stunt and a distraction.”
The RNC is also having fun with the disunity theme, and plans a “Happy Hour for Hillary” tonight in Denver at the Paramount Cafe. “Space is limited,” the RNC claims in a release.
