For the better part of the last month, Craig Stammen has done a good job against aggressive lineups just by controlling his fastball well. Tonight, he’s getting hit.
The Brewers have five hits in the first three innings, and lead 2-0 after three. It could have been 3-0, if Felipe Lopez (remember him?) hadn’t gotten thrown out at home plate by the unlikely relay of Adam Dunn and Cristian Guzman. Corey Hart crushed a homer off Stammen in the second, Stammen also didn’t help himself by throwing a wild pitch that allowed Ryan Braun to move to third before Prince Fielder’s double.
