Virginia attackman Steele Stanwick was the No. 2 overall selection in Friday’s Major League Lacrosse draft. Stanwick was selected by the Ohio Machine.

The league conducts its draft of college seniors before the college season begins.

Stanwick, who won the Tewaaraton Award as a junior after leading the Cavaliers to the national title last spring, was one of five Cavaliers selected. Maryland, which lost to Virginia in the title game, had three players picked.
