Bruce Boudreau just said that Brian Pothier “could be one week or could be six weeks” with a rib injury. He left Wednesday’s game in the middle of the second period — and if it is a rib injury than maybe it wasn’t the blocked shot off his leg after all.
“He’s hurting and he’s sore,” Boudreau said. “It is one of those injuries where I don’t know how long he’s going to be out for.”

Boudreau also said that he doesn’t think Semyon Varalmov will skate again until Monday and won’t play “probably until the end of the Vancouver trip or when we get home against Buffalo. That’s my guess.”
It will be interesting to see if Michal Neuvirth gets another game while Varlamov is hurt. Tomorrow night in Toronto would make sense, and the back-to-backs in Vancouver and Edmonton could also be a spot for him.
