The Caps just wrapped up a light skate here at St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. Going to be a busy day at this rink — Lightning will be on the ice shortly and the Edmonton Oilers are practicing here this afternoon. (side note: The Lightning are about to embark on a 13-day road trip — that’s at least five days longer than any Caps trip this year).
Not a lot of news out of a sparsely attended workout. Most of the team’s big-minute players took the day off. Semyon Varlamov did as well, so Jose Theodore was on the only goalie on the ice and had to skate back and forth at the start of each drill.

Matt Bradley is now a father after his wife gave birth to a boy early this morning. Bruce Boudreau said he isn’t sure if Bradley will join the team in Buffalo for tomorrow’s game or not — it will depend on how much sleep he got last night and if he can be in Buffalo tonight to get a full night’s rest.
Mike Green was one of the guys who did not practice, but Bruce Boudreau said he is fine and will play tomorrow. Green took a shoulder to the cheek from Tampa’s David Hale last night in the third period. He was on the ice for a while and had a cut under his left eye, but Green returned for the next shift and drew a penalty by skating around two guys with the puck.
That’s it from warm and sunny Hockey Bay — now it is on to lovely Buffalo, where warm is probably not an adjective to be used in early December.
