The Caps cut six players today, and the biggest name is John Carlson. A lot of people thought he had a chance to make the team, but numbers and contracts were really working against him. Spending a little more time in Hershey isn’t going to hurt him, either.

The other five guys are goalie Jason Bacashihua, forwards Francois Bouchard, Steve Pinizzotto and Andrew Joudrey and defenseman Patrick McNeil.

The three most surprising guys left are probably Mathieu Perreault, Brandon Sugden and Kyle Wilson.
