Sen. Tom Coburn will be away from Washington for the rest of the week to deal with a reoccurrence of prostate cancer that requires evaluation and treatment, The Associated Press said.

The 65-year-old Oklahoma Republican, one of Congress’ top fiscal hawks and watchdogs for waste, received treatment for the same condition in 2011 and has survived malignant melanoma and colon cancer, the AP reported.
