The Trentonian newspaper had a little fun with the high-profile governor’s aspirations for higher office, now that he’s in prime position for a 2016 White House bid.
Their front page reads “4 More years,” but the “4” is crossed out and replaced with a “2.”
Voters in New Jersey enthusiastically sent the frank-spoken governor back to office, but some question whether he will be focused on the Garden State’s issues or national aspirations in key primary states.
In his victory speech, Mr. Christie insisted he is focused on the home front.
“I did not seek a second term to do small things,” he said. “I sought a second term to finish the job. Now watch me do it.”
