The Wizards announced today that they have signed free agent center Paul Davis and swingman Vincent Grier for their training camp roster, bringing the total of players they will take to Richmond next week to 16.
Davis is a 6-foot-11 center who was originally selected in the second round of the 2006 draft by the Clippers. In 80 games over the past two seasons, he averaged 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds.

Grier is a 6-5 swingman that played for Chloe Basket of France last season and averaged 10 points in 28 games. He had a summer league stint with Minnesota in 2008 and played in six preseason games for Miami in 2006.
It’s unlikely either of these guys will make the regular season roster considering the Wizards are already well over the luxury tax limit and have 14 players under contract.
Yesterday when asked if the Wizards would make any additions for training camp, Ernie Grunfeld said yes, but indicated that the roster of 14 players was what he expected to take into the regular season.
Monday the Wizards will hold media day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Verizon Center and then head to Richmond where they will tip off camp at VCU the following day.
