Capitol Hill Republicans on Wednesday plan to introduce a bill preventing the Federal Communications Commission from approving the so-called “Fairness Doctrine.”

The bill will be spearheaded by conservatives Sen. Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican, and Reps. Mike Pence, Indiana Republican and Greg Walden, Oregon Republican.

Conservative activists fear the fairness concept, which would require media outlets to offer equal time to both major ideological camps, would cause conservative talk radio to falter. Because of the strong Democratic majority this GOP bill is likely DOA, but don’t expect the right to go quietly.
