Despite coach Jim Zorn’s brave words from Friday about having practice no matter what, the Redskins just called off their 11 AM workout.

“We have a contingency plan,” Zorn said Friday when asked about the impending weather. “There will be a practice of some sort. It may just be cut down, but we won’t be stomping around in the snow.”

In the past, the Redskins had conducted walkthroughs on the basketball court inside Redskin Park. But those were held during downpours not blizzards. It would have been difficult for all the players, coaches and other personnel to get to and from the facility today.

And with the game on Monday instead of Sunday, Saturday’s practice would have been a bonus session.

Maybe this blizzard will prompt new general manager Bruce Allen to prod owner Dan Snyder into finally putting up a bubble so the team can practice no matter the weather.
