Already out the last four games because of a concussion, running back Clinton Portis was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list today.
Portis, who will be on “The John Thompson Show” in 10 minutes, was scheduled to be in Pittsburgh yesterday and today for a second visit with a doctor.

The statement from Redskins front office chief Vinny Cerrato: “We felt at this juncture in the season, it was best to place Clinton on injured reserve. After consulting with our medical staff and other specialists, Clinton’s prognosis is good and we expect him to make a full recovery and return to the Redskins.”
Portis finishes the season with 124 carries for 494 yards and a touchdown.
