U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, Colorado Democrat, announced today he will formally nominate Barack Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in his convention speech tomorrow night.

“I am honored to have the historic opportunity to nominate Senator Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States of America,” Salazar said in a statement yesterday. “Senator Obama and Senator [Joseph R.] Biden have lived the American dream and will fight to restore that dream for middle class families across the country. Here in Colorado, and across the West, we are eager to turn the page on the last eight years, and under the leadership of Senator Obama and Senator Biden, I am confident we can get the job done.”
