Justice League: Cry for Justice, No. 1 from DC Comics

Justice League: Cry for Justice, No. 1, $3.99, DC Comics

James Robinson starts his Justice League run here! After the deaths of Martian Manhunter and Batman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Supergirl, Shazam, Atom, Congorilla (really?), and Starman (a Robinson staple) team up to stop the killings—and maybe get some payback. Cry for Justice is a 6-issue mini-series, and then Robinson will be taking over as the regular Justice League writer, so jump on now.

Captain America: Reborn, No. 1 from Marvel Publishing

Captain America: Reborn, No. 1, $3.99, Marvel Publishing

After what might be the shortest super-hero “death” ever, Captain America is back. Luckily, he’s still being written by Ed Brubaker, and Reborn has some really nice art by Brian Hitch and Butch Guice. Don’t read it because “he’s back”—read it because it’s good!

Greg Bennett is the Owner/Manager of Big Planet Comics, a chain of pop art specialty stores in the DC Metro area with locations in Georgetown, Bethesda, Vienna, & College Park.
