Wednesday Comics, No. 1, DC Comics ($3.99)
DC does their homage to full-page newspaper strips of yesteryear, in a very cool tabloid newspaper format! Highlights include Batman by the 100 Bullets team of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso, Metamorpho by Neil Gaiman and Mike Allred, Hawkman by Kyle Baker, Adam Strange by Paul Pope, and Sgt. Rock drawn by living legend Joe Kubert. Totally cool!

Asterios Polyp, graphic novel, Pantheon, $29.95
David Mazzuchelli’s Rubber Blanket was one of the greatest indy comics ever—sadly all three issues are long out-of-print. In fact for years now, the only David Mazzuchelli comics that have been available have been his amazing work on Batman and Daredevil with Frank Miller back in the 1980s. While nobody’s stepping up to reprint Rubber Blanket, there is finally a new graphic novel from Mazzuchelli—Asterios Polyp. Expect poignant story, and beautiful art!
