2. Observatory Hill Park

If you want a central location that feels relaxed and less hectic, Observatory Hill Park is a great spot. Only a short walk from Circular Quay and Wynyard train stations, the park offers superb elevated views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

That said—although an incredible view—you can’t see the Sydney Opera House from here. However, it’s still an outstanding view.

5. Bradfield Park, Milsons Point

The location is ideal for families because it’s spacious, green, and ideal for picnics. The event has a capacity of 18,000, so don’t arrive too late. It’s only a 5-minute walk from Milsons Point station.

6. Lavender Bay Parklands

Lavender Bay Parklands is one of the best views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on New Year’s Eve. Due to being located slightly back from Sydney Harbour, you’ll enjoy a birdseye view of the fireworks display.

There are three parks here: Clark, Watts, and Quibaree. Each park offers sensational views, but you should arrive early because there’s a capacity of 3,700.

Navigating the Crowds and Transportation

Millions of people celebrate Sydney’s streets on New Year’s Eve; therefore, transportation can be challenging. Despite the additional services, expect delays after midnight. You should prepare for this, particularly if you have a young family.
