Scherzer throwing again after leaving game Friday

The Washington Nationals saw Max Scherzer suffer a groin tweak that forced him to exit his start Friday after 12 pitches. But neither Scherzer nor manager Dave Martinez think the right-hander will be out of action long. Scherzer threw from flat ground ahead of Sunday's series finale against the San Francisco Giants, and he's scheduled to throw a bullpen Monday.

Christian Eriksen suffered cardiac arrest

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch and "was gone" before he was resuscitated, Denmark's team doctor, Morten Boesen, said Sunday.

Saban signs extension with Alabama through 2028 season

Nick Saban signed a contract extension to keep the coach with the Crimson Tide through at least the 2028 season, the school announced Monday, a run that could result in the 69-year-old coach finishing his career in Tuscaloosa.

Titans acquire Pro Bowl receiver Julio Jones in trade with Falcons

The Tennessee Titans traded with the Atlanta Falcons for seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones. The Falcons will receive the Titans' second-round pick in 2022 and their fourth in 2023 with Atlanta sending Jones and a sixth-round pick in 2023 to Tennessee.
