‘I understand the frustration’: McCarthy shifts criticism to Biden for two lawmakers’ trip to Kabul

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy on Wednesday said it was President Biden's fault that two Congress members took an unannounced trip to Kabul airport to see for themselves the U.S. evacuation effort. "It's not the best idea to go there, but I understand their frustration by the lack of any answers from this administration," Mr. McCarthy, California Republican, said at a press conference.

ISIS threatens Kabul airport, embassy warns Americans to stay away

The U.S. Embassy in Kabul changed course and issued a travel warning Saturday after an apparent threat from Islamic State terrorists, telling Americans not to go to the Afghanistan capital's airport unless advised by an official government representative.
