Romanian brothers plead guilty in $760,000 SNAP fraud scheme

Two Romanian brothers residing unlawfully in the United States pleaded guilty in federal court to participating in a wire fraud scheme involving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits that affected victims across multiple states, U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson for the Western District of North Carolina announced.

Ford’s electric vehicle sales plunge 41% in second quarter

Ford Motor Co. reported a 10.3% drop in U.S. vehicle sales for the second quarter, dragged down by a steep decline in electric vehicle demand and ongoing supply problems for its top-selling F-Series trucks. Ford's pure electric vehicle sales fell 40.7% compared with the same period last year.

States that still allow trans athletes in girls’ sports face pressure

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 on Tuesday that states may lawfully bar transgender athletes from girls' and women's school sports, upholding laws in Idaho and West Virginia that had been challenged by two transgender student-athletes. The decision, authored by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, shields the roughly two dozen states that already ban the practice by statute, but it left the choice up to the rest, and how many states that actually includes depends on who's counting.

Disney reportedly eyeing Lionsgate purchase to reach male, family audiences
