Joe Biden defeated Sen. Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination -- and then won the presidency by campaigning as a moderate ("'Nasty side of the aisle': Biden, Democrats turn blind eye as far-left rages against moderates," Web, Oct. 5). As I am loathe to impute that Biden campaigned in an intentionally insincere manner, I assume that his assumption of Sanders' socialist agenda is an honest post-election conversion, as he grappled with tenacious problems of state unforeseen prior to the election.

Vaccine could harm armed forces

On Sept. 16, WIBC radio in Indianapolis reported that 125 health workers at Indiana University Health quit their jobs rather than receive the COVID-19 vaccine. A report from National Public Radio three days prior reported that a hospital in New York will stop delivering babies for a while due to a shortage of maternity-ward workerss, many of whom had quit their jobs rather than get the vaccine. What do these hospital workers know about the vaccine that the average person does not?

The lack of respect Terry McAuliffe has had for parents across Virginia (especially northern Virginia) in the past year-and-a-half is revealing. Parents had their children's schools closed without recourse last year. Now, with schools thankfully open, the online option has been removed for many of the parents who need it.

Military could help with port blocks

COVID-19 restrictions and a shortage of dock workers have contributed to a backlog of cargo ships waiting to offload at U.S. ports. As of the end of September, dozens of ships were at anchor or adrift waiting to enter New York City, New Jersey, Long Beach, California, and Los Angeles ports. The backlog is causing supply-chain shortages of goods across the country and is affecting the upcoming holiday shopping season.

Empty vessel Harris

Kamala Harris simply has no core beliefs -- so when challenged, she simply nods agreement with anything so as to avoid a situation where she is obliged to defend or promote a contrary view ("'Stop saying stupid stuff': Sen. John Kennedy offers crisis-communications tips to Kamala Harris," Web, Sept. 29). Harris is a sideshow at best. She goes whichever way the political winds of the moment happen to be blowing. She is what is sometimes referred to as a phony.

So much for herd immunity

Herd immunity was never in the cards for the COVID-19 vaccines, and if you want to know why just ask your local veterinarian ("Biden admits herd immunity is a mirage," Web, Sept. 29). In fact, a veterinarian who works in animal agriculture has direct experience with what you are witnessing, as these "leaky," non-sterilizing vaccines are administered across the population.

The point is not to decertify the 2020 results and reinstate Trump as president; the point is to document what happened to ensure that it never happens again.

Marine jailed to shield Biden

I just heard about the injustice inflicted on Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller, who despite having served in the U.S Marine Corps for many years, was jailed this week. The reason: He violated UCMJ laws by making a video asking for those responsible for the botched Afghanistan evacuation to stand up and admit their guilt.

Trump was cheated, period.

Michael McKenna's recent column completely misses the point ("Time for Trump and GOP to get over 2020 election," Web, Sept. 29). By only noting that the ballot count favored Biden, he is parroting the left's talking point. The larger point that he doesn't even mention is that there were tens of thousands of illegally counted ballots identified by the auditors. There were also likely 200,000 or more illegal votes identified by an independent canvass. This same level of cheating occurred in other states, too.
