Wanted to pass along a link from the Raleigh News & Observer’s ACC blog that says quite a bit about the conference.

Maryland, by the way, is tied for fourth in the league for most representatives on NFL rosters and practice squads this season. Predictably, Miami, Florida State and Virginia Tech rank 1-2-3.

Of Maryland’s 22 guys, only four (Eric Barton, Kris Jenkins, LaMont Jordan and Lewis Sanders) did not play for Ralph Friedgen.

Maybe the most bizarre number is that Clemson has only 12 current pros, just one more than Wake Forest. Everyone knows Jim Grobe maximizes his talent at Wake, but just how has Tommy Bowden rolled along in the pressure cooker of Tigertown without more NFL-caliber guys?

One more neat note before leaving you to look at this plethora of info: Florida State still has one guy from its pre-ACC days still in the league. That would be quarterback Brad Johnson of Dallas.
