My apologies for getting this out a couple hours late. My laptop will soon require its last rites, but help is on the way sometime next week. Sometime.

Anyway, here’s what Ralph had to say:

* The kicking situation is dead even between Obi Egekeze and Nick Wallace. Tie goes to the veteran incumbent on scholarship —- not really, but experience seems to matter a little bit —- so Egekeze looks like the probable kicker on Saturday.

* Coach Ralph Friedgen didn’t say how long LaQuan Williams will be out for. But Emani Lee-Odai is the backup to Darrius Heyward-Bey, though Torrey Smith can swing over to that position as well.

* Redshirt alert! Cameron Chism, Dominique Herald and Demetrius Hartsfield could all play on special teams this week. Chism is taking second-team snaps at cornerback. Herald could be looking at duty as a third-down pass rusher, which makes sense since he played linebacker in the spring.

* Beyond that, it was pretty similar to all that’s out there already. I’ll come up with some more stuff tomorrow morning when (hopefully) the laptop gets its second wind and decides to behave for the next four or five days. If not, bloggy goodness might be on hold for a while, much to everyone’s chagrin.
