This was not a good first half here in Murfreesboro, unless you’re a Middle Tennessee fan infatuated with dink-and-dunk.

Which, given the 10-7 Blue Raider lead, you probably should be.

I’ve heard from not one, not two, but THREE fans about the dreadful broadcast. Kelly Holcomb apparently bleeds blue, considering the blue streaks I’ve heard about him using “we” and “us.” Another fan just described it as a “JV production of a JV team.”

Fortunately, I only have the real thing to draw my own thoughts from. And Maryland doesn’t look like a team that merits a 2-0 record at the end of the night.

Granted, the Terps always struggle in these games, probably unnecessarily. But this is against a so-so at best team. There’s no Michael Turner on the other side.

By the way, if you ever want to hear a soundtrack from the early 80s, come to Floyd Stadium. I’m not sure there’s been a song played tonight from before Poppa Bush left office. I half expect to see Mr. T roll into the stadium in the A-Team van during a timeout.

OK, time for kickoff. Again.
