Well, it’s official! I’m blogging with The Washington Times, and I’m excited to share my thoughts with you all and hear yours. For those of you who don’t know who I am, I’m Darrell Green.

I played 20 years with our beloved Washington Redskins, and last month I was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. You may have heard my induction speech when I declared I belong here. Today, I make a new declaration: WE WANT DALLAS!!!!!

It’s what the fans started chanting as soon as Jason Campbell connected with Santana Moss for the 17-yard touchdown to clinch the Redskins’ victory over the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday.

It’s what the players (both present and former), the coaches, and every Redskin and Cowboy fan both young and old wait for all year long. That’s right, baby, it’s Dallas Week! Our biggest game of our season is taking place this Sunday afternoon.

The battle between the Skins and the Boys started well before I got here, was strong while I played and is even stronger now that I’m watching as a fan.

It seems like the Redskin vs. Dallas rivalry is as old as time, and the tradition of Dallas Week brings an atmosphere rich with pride, excitement and great expectations of the impending clash of the titans.

Anyone would be hard pressed to find a Redskins fan that isn’t ready and willing to bet the farm on a Redskins victory.

This year, we meet Dallas on the road in Week 4 with a 2-1 record. We lost our season opener to our NFC East division rival from the north, the New York Giants.

Since then, we’ve won our last two matchups, but everybody knows that neither the Saints nor the Cardinals could be compared to the high-powered engine of the Dallas Cowboys.

What do you think? Let me hear your thoughts and stay tuned. I’ll give you my pick on Friday.
