A California city is set to weigh whether or not to ban gun shows from a location where a show has been held for the last two decades.

The Glendale city council is scheduled to consider a proposal Tuesday on whether to ban gun shows at the Glendale Auditorium, where the Glendale Gun show has been held since 1992, CBSLosAngeles reports.

A city councilman first suggested the proposal after the shooting deaths of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., last month.

The council could cancel rental contracts for upcoming events, bar all gun sales on city property, or allow the show, scheduled for March, to take place and then enforce a ban, according to KNX-1070 radio.
