Hard to believe it’s here already, but the Wizards are just more than a week away from training camp for the 2008-09 season. Camp will take place at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond from Sept. 27 to Oct. 3.

While the week of practice is closed to the public, the team will host a scrimmage at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, which is free and open to the public. It’ll take place at Siegel Center.

Fans will get to get a glimpse of a reunited Big Three of Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison, a look at rookie center JaVale McGee and the rest of the gang.

Four days after the conclusion of camp, the Wizards travel to Dallas for a preseason game against the Mavericks. The Wizards’ lone home preseason game will take place on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. against the Detroit Pistons.
