Sure, Jason Taylor is a passrusher for whom offenses have to account. Sure Taylor’s a better player than Demetric Evans. But considering how big backs Brandon Jacobs of the Giants and Edgerrin James of the Cardinals have run over the Redskins for better than 5 yards a pop, having to replace the injured passrushing left end with Evans, who’s more of a run-stopper, isn’t the worst news for a defense that’s about to tangle with burly Marion Barber of the Cowboys.
Dealing with the Eagles’ Brian Westbrook — if he’s recovered from his sprained ankle — the following week would be more problematic, but then the Redskins face two more power runners, the Rams’ Steven Jackson and the Browns’ Jamal Lewis in consecutive games.
