In today’s newspaper we have a feature about the Echoes of One World ‘09 film festival, an international human rights documentary film festival taking place in Washington, DC. The piece contains an interview with Jana Sevcikova, a Czech documentarian whose film about the devastating 1988 earthquake in the town of Gyumri kicked off the festival. Miss Sevcikova is looking for Armenian-American communities in which to screen “Gyumri,” and asks any with interest to contact her. She has already received considerable interest from Chicago and New York but is still looking for ways to reach the Armenian communities nationwide. Any Armenian communities interested in screening Gyumri in their cultural center (or other venues) can contact Miss Sevcikova at filmsevcikova [@] seznam.cz.
