30 Days of Night: 30 Days 'til Death from IDW Publishing

30 Days of Night: 30 Days ‘til Death, trade paperback, IDW Publishing ($17.99)

David Lapham strikes again. Young Liars has been fun, though I still miss Stray Bullets. But in his spare time, Lapham did this fantastic 30 Days of Night story, where a vampire who’s trying to keep a low profile has his plans mangled by a bunch of his moronic co-vampires. Funny, in a black humor way—what else did you expect?

Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys Volume 2 from Viz Media

Naoki Urasawa’s 20th Century Boys Volume 2, trade paperback, Viz Media ($12.99)

(This has actually been out for a while in some places, and I think Vol.3 will be out in the next week or two.) My current favorite comic! Stephen King meets Alan Moore, with just a hint of Tezuka thrown in for good measure. If you want a bit more Tezuka in the mix, try Urasawa’s Pluto—his authorized updating of Astro Boy—also awesome!
