Republicans have decided that one way to bring Barack Obama down to earth is to tie him to unpopular congressional leaders. It’s the reverse of what Democrats have done with John McCain and President Bush, whose unpopularity is decidedly a drag on the Republican ticket.

It’s unclear whether Congress’ unpopularity will be transferable to Obama, but a new commercial from the RNC and the McCain campaign will remind voters that if they elect Obama, they will likely be giving Democrats control of both the White House and Congress.
