Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, New York Democrat, said she would vote against individual spending bills to fund specific agencies like Veterans Affairs or the National Park Service.
“I would vote absolutely no. You don’t pick and choose the parts of government you like,” she said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Wednesday morning. “It’s a gimmick, and it’s one that should be soundly disagreed with.”

The House is expected to vote again on Wednesday to pass piecemeal bills that fund high-profile agencies. On Tuesday, House Democrats blocked the bills, which could not reach a two-thirds majority.
The Wednesday votes would only need a simple majority, and the bills have previously had bipartisan support.
