When rookie President Joseph R. Biden Jr. plants himself behind the Resolute Desk for the first time and boldly but foolishly takes pen in hand to cease any further construction on our southern-border wall, he will be forever remembered as the creator of America's own Maginot Line. By leaving the industrious works of his predecessor unfinished to appease the far left-wing members of the Democratic Party, President Biden will essentially leave the gate wide open to any and all foreign interlopers looking to make an illegal entry to the United States of America.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Chinese government let millions die

One glaring omission in the report issued this week by a panel of WHO-appointed experts is that the "immediate and decisive decisions" made by China after the novel-coronavirus outbreak included a lockdown — but it was an internal-only one, from Wuhan. China left international air travel in place, sponsoring worldwide export of a virus they already knew was deadly. To my knowledge, that export remained in place until our president shut down the flow to the United States in late January of 2020.

I am sure that "Catholic" Joseph R. Biden will sign an executive order on day one to force the American people to fund Planned Parenthood. He will also support the exportation of abortion worldwide. For those who accepted massive voter fraud or voted for Joe, this is only the beginning of his destruction of America. Your living costs will skyrocket and your basic freedoms will be lost. It is already beginning.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Obama, Clinton pardoned far more at end

One of the lead stories on CNN this week has been about the president's 100 last-days pardons (including clemencies). Worth noting is that in January 2017, the outgoing president, Barack Obama, issued 1,927 pardons and commutations in his final days. In his last week in office Bill Clinton issued 456 pardons and clemencies. But of course the radical, socialist press is taking a last shot at President Trump, whom it has been working for four years to evict from office.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Pro-Trump damage pales next to BLM’s

Considering the billions of dollars in damage that resulted from the riots across the U.S. in 2020 (mainly by Democratic Party supporters), the pro-Trump protesters who broke into the Capitol this month did almost no damage. They were there to protest, not destroy. That is something the media have not really mentioned. In fact, from some mainstream news coverage one would think the Capitol had been set ablaze.

EDITORIAL: By curbing excesses of the left, Joe Biden can also calm the right

Justice is supposed to be blind, but Americans shouldn't be. Whether carried out by black-clad anarchists or assemblies of flag-wavers, political violence should be dealt in evenhanded rather than selective fashion. If he hopes to restore order in a divided nation, President-elect Joe Biden will need to help unruly factions see clearly that the only proper manner of seeking redress of grievances is peacefully. Given the recent tumult, it won't be easy.

As a veteran I have been embarrassed by the slovenly conduct of the National Guard in the Capitol these past few days. They've reportedly been lying around on the floor, not bothering to stand up when a senator enters the room and sleeping on the floor of the Rotunda. I am a one-time missile battery commander and I am appalled and angered at this behavior.

The purpose of electoral voting is to provide fairness in electing the president by granting states a proportionate say in the election process. Otherwise, a few populous states would dictate the outcome of the election, irrespective of how people in states throughout the whole country voted. Well, we have seen the voting maps and we can make the same observations at the state level.

The professor told us that a philosopher by the name of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin was well-known for saying that, at present, humankind is at the emotional, mental/psychological and spiritual developmental level of a 12-year-old child, but would one-day evolve into "adulthood."

I watched Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's recent online rant about her fear over the recent assault on the Capitol. I understand her concern and sympathize with her. However, she went on to lambast Republicans and talk about how evil they are. Where were such words when Antifa and her saintly socialist rioters were burning down Portland and Seattle? What were her comments when police officers were locked inside a police station and fire-bombed? Where was her outrage when rioters murdered a retired St. Louis police captain?

it is being reported that there are more U.S. soldiers garrisoning Washington than there are in Iraq and Afghanistan combined. This would strongly suggest that all these troops have been deployed not for the purposes of national defense, but for political stage management.
