\ Obi Egekeze is 2-for-3 on field goals, the lone miss a 52-yarder at Florida International. He’s also 9-for-9 on extra point attempts.\

\ Meanwhile, freshman Travis Baltz ranks ninth in the ACC at 37.8 yards a punt, while his net average is 34.5 yards.\

\ “Obi’s done very well,” coach Ralph Friedgen said. “[Monday] night, he kicked a 53-yarder in practice. He’s developing into an excellent placekicker. Travis has done well for a freshman. I don’t think he kicked his best on Thursday, and we really have to kick better. Chris [Roberts] is doing a great job on kickoffs. He’s probably exceeded my expect on kickoffs. From the kicking standpoint, we’re probably doing better than I anticipated since Travis is a freshman. Replacing Adam [Podlesh] is not an easy task.”\

\ One concern Ralph had was a handful of punts that weren’t caught and subsequently downed deeper in Maryland territory. Both the punt and kickoff return averages rank 10th in the ACC.\

\ “I’m not disappointed by our special teams,” Friedgen said. “I think we’re playing OK, but I think we can play better.”\
