First lady Michelle Obama and daughters Sasha and Malia will accompany President Obama on his trip next week to Northern Ireland and Germany, the White House announced Friday.
Mrs. Obama and the girls will visit Dublin, where they will tour Trinity College on Monday, before they meet with U.S. Embassy staff and later attend a “Riverdance” performance at the historic Gaiety Theatre. The president will be in Northern Ireland for a summit of the Group of Eight leaders.
The first family also will travel to Berlin, where Mr. Obama will hold meetings with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and give a speech Wednesday at the historic Brandenburg Gate. Mrs. Obama will visit a memorial to the Jews of Europe who were murdered during the Holocaust, and also will visit the Reichstag before joining her husband for an official state dinner.
