Ben Swan of Santa Fe New has written in stating that he has seen the Vogel family and that all is well. His message follows:

Hi, I’m from Santa Fe, NM, visiting my folks in Fairbanks for a couple weeks.

My sister, Sherry, and I traveled up to the Yukon on Tuesday, June 24, and on our return talked with the Vogels about 50 miles north of Fairbanks. We shared cheese and fruit with them.

They said they were looking forward to stocking up supplies in Fairbanks and picking up a laptop. The weather has been excellent so far, but they haven’t seen too many wild animals. (It was nicer up north than in Fairbanks, where it has been raining steadily for the past few days.)

They were all in good cheer, although the boys seemed hungry and ready for lunch. They planned to travel through Fairbanks to North Pole (south of Fairbanks) and spend time with some friends.

I thought you might enjoy a photo I took of them. The pipeline is in back.

Thanks Ben for giving us a great update and photos!  They look like they are having the time of their lives. Click on the photos for larger images.
